Zone Healing

Your Chiropractor can determine which Zones are involved in your case by feeling the Zone Points along the base of your skull.  The tight or tender ligaments indicate which of the Health Zones are under stress and which vertebrae need to be adjusted.  If a Zone Point is tight or tender, this indicates the associated Health Zone is still in the process of healing -- even though the more severe symptoms have diminished.

Zone 1 - The Glandular Zone - Controls the Function of all the Glands of the Body

Vertebrae Adjusted: C1, T1, L1, S1

Hair, Skin, Appetite, Energy, Stomach, Memory, Kidneys, Thyroid, Adrenals, Temper, Concentration, Relaxation, Head Glands, Prostate, Elimination, Sleep, Ovaries, Digestion, Pelvis, Uterus

Zone 2- The Eliminative Zone - Controls all the Organs of Elimination

Vertebrae Adjusted: C2, T3, T12, L2

Sinuses, Mucus, Throat, Nose, Lungs, Bronchial Tubes, Toxins, Kidneys, Elimination, Small Intestines, Colon, Bowel Movements, Abdomen

Zone 3- The Nervous System Zone - Controls the Function of the Nervous System

Vertebrae Adjusted:  C3, T4, T9, L3

Nervous System, Ears, Eyes, Nerves, Sense Organs, Solar Plexus, Digestion, Relaxation, Generative Organs, Appetite, Elimination, Sleep

Zone 4- The Digestive Zone - Controls all the Organs of Digestion & Assimilation

Vertebrae Adjusted: C4, T4, T8, L4

Digestion, Foods, Appetite, Liver, Normal Weight, Assimilation, Stimulation, Intestines, Stomach Glands, Bowels, Elimination, Gall Bladder

Zone 5- The Muscular Zone - Controls the Muscle Tone & Strength of the Body

Vertebrae Adjusted: C5, T5, T11, L5

Muscles, Neck Region, Arms, Normal Feeling, Nerve Life, Chest, Abdomen, Back, Spine, Normal Tone, Strength, Suppleness, Pelvic Region, Thighs, Walking, Feet, Relaxation, Movement

Zone 6- The Circulatory Zone - Controls Circulation Throughout the Body

Vertebrae Adjusted: C6, T2, T10, L1

Blood Pressure, Heart, Ease, Stength, Blood Vessels, Back, Arms, Chest, Abdomen, Circulation, Lymph Vessels, Ease of Movement, Limbs, Relaxation, Thyroid Gland

Your chiropractor works to restore your Health Zones to normal by locating and adjusting your spinal misalignments, thus reducing nerve pressure, restoring nerve flow, and reestablishing normal function and natural resistance to disease.  As the cause of your condition is corrected, this allows the body to heal & regulate itself naturally -- without drugs or surgery.

Chronic Migraines Helped by Chiropractic,
Study Shows By: Dr. John Zimmerman

A study published in the February 2000 issue of the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics, (JMPT), showed that people suffering with migraine headaches were helped with chiropractic care. The study was conducted in Australia at the Chiropractic Research Center of Macquarie University. In this research 177 volunteers were studied who had migraine headaches for over 18 years on average. Many of the participants also suffered from neck pain. The average response of the group that received chiropractic care showed a statistically significant improvement in migraine frequency, duration, and disability. The study also showed that those who received chiropractic care were able to reduce their medication use, with a significant number reducing their medication usage to zero!

Additionally, 59% had no neck pain after a period of two months, and another 35% had a decrease in neck pain.

The researchers concluded this study, built on previous studies that had similar results. "There have now been several studies demonstrating significant improvement in headaches or migraines after chiropractic." The Migraine Foundation of Australia estimates that some 12 percent of Australians ages 15 and over, experience migraines.

Chiropractic care was most effective in saving lives!

In 1919, Palmer published "The Flu and You."

In this article he reported death statistics from the 1918 Flu Pandemic

that showed that those people who were under chiropractic care had a far better chance of survival. Medical doctors in Davenport, Iowa, treated 93,590 patients, with 6,116 deaths

in other words, 1 out of 15 under medical care

succumbed to the flu. At the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, 1,635 people with the flu were adjusted,

with only one fatality. Outside of Davenport, chiropractors adjusted another 4,735 flu cases, with only six deaths ‑‑ 1 out of 866.

The ratio of flu cases cared for versus deaths were as follows:
Medical care: 1 out of 17 died.
Osteopathic care: 1 out of 36 died.
Chiropractic care: 1 out of 886

Chiropractic’s health benefits are much greater than the relief of back or neck pain, it is whole-body health care. It emphasizes

the relationship between the spine and the nervous system, and how that relationship affects function and health. Spinal

misalignments (known as vertebral subluxations) can interfere with the transmission of information from the brain,

over the spinal cord and/or nerve roots to any and all systems of the body. The resulting altered information produces altered function and lowered resistance.

If you are worried about the newest virus, consider the benefits of chiropractic.

What is the Swine Flu?

The Swine Flu is the newest form of influenza that everyone is worried about. Influenza is a viral infection that can be

easily transmitted from person to person.

How would I get this flu? People usually get this flu because they were near someone who was infected that had

coughed or sneezed near them or by touching a surface such as a door handle or grocery cart that is carrying the virus.

Then they touch their face, eyes or mouth.

What are the symptoms? About one to four days usually elapse between the time a person is infected and the onset

of symptoms. Influenza normally causes symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, headaches and body aches, fever,

chills, and sometimes vomiting and diarrhea. Adults with severe illness may also have difficulty breathing, dizziness,

confusion, or severe vomiting and diarrhea.
